first show in Santa Fe!

I will have a piece in the SPESW Juried Members Exhibition at the Marion Center Gallery at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design. The show will hang from November 4 - 30 and will have an opening reception on November 10 from 5 - 7 pm.

Very excited to be showing work in the Santa Fe community, also excited for the SPE (Society for Photographic Education, for those who don't know) regional conference at the Santa Fe Community College. The conference is from November 11-13, featured speakers include Joel-Peter Witkin and Robert ParkeHarrison, among others.

Another interesting conference coming up is the APIS (Alternative Photographic International Symposium)  hosted by Bostick and Sullivan and also held at the Santa Fe Community College from October 6 - 8.

Just a few landscapes from this summer with the Graflex. Finally have a new film/print scanner! Making work without the luxuries of SCAD is starting to become a reality. Projects in the works, early stages but more to come!

new mexico, new camera!

I moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico two weeks ago and have been too busy getting settled to photograph. I think that is about to change as I have a new addition to my camera family! Say hello to the lovely Graflex Crown Graphic 4x5. Its portable and lightweight, so I plan on taking it along on all my adventures and making platinum prints in the super strong NM sun. Excited to put this to use!

after hours installation

Installation photos from my senior show "After Hours" this past Thursday with Chloe Cryan and Eska Palmer. Took these just this morning before deinstalling, so my artist statement and tags are down. I really appreciate everyone who came out to support us, it was a great time. I couldn't have asked for two better photographers to have a show with, I am honored to be on the same walls as Chloe and Eska and I hope it will happen again someday.

time portal

Took a drive to the small town of Portal, Georgia this weekend to do some exploring and shooting with my friend Alix. I was first intrigued by the name, and I ended up getting some pretty interesting shots. The last two were taken this past week at Tybee. I have been leaning towards my darker images with heavy blacks, they also respond best to my process, so I have been underexposing a bit. Since my work does have a lot to do with time, I like the idea of a portal...
