One of my photographs is currently on view at Axle Contemporary, a mobile gallery of contemporary art in Santa Fe. "Autophotography" features self portraits by 84 New Mexico photographers. Axle Contemporary is also publishing at book of the exhibition, with a book signing at Photo-Eye bookstore on October 18, 2013 from 5 to 7PM. The show is on view through October 23, 2013.

santa fe photographic workshops

 I am excited to be a recipient of this season's Emerging Photographer Scholarship at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops! I will be using this scholarship to take Christopher James's Advanced Alternative Processes: Projects workshop this summer.

I plan to work on perfecting the wet plate collodion process, making glass negatives and ambrotypes and continuing my tintype series.

weeds & the portable darkroom

This past weekend, I used my portable darkroom for the first time. The box was constructed for me by local carpenter, Roger Atkins and the dark cloth was sewn for me by Dana Boucher. Above is the first image I made with the box and although I don't think its a stellar image, its a start. I am excited to finally be able to take wet plate on the road with me.

"Of Memory, Bone & Myth" at the Rourke Museum in Moorhead, Minnesota will feature two of my tintypes. The show opens on March 22, 2013 and will run through June 2, 2013. The show was juried by Olivia Parker and is in conjunction with the University of North Dakota.

"By Any Means: Alternative Photographic Processes" at the Florence Quarter Gallery at the Southwest University of Art & Design will feature four of my tintypes. The show opens March 22, 2013 and will run through April 12, 2013.

texas photographic society

One of my mordançage photographs was selected by juror Blue Mitchell for the Texas Photographic Society's International Competition. The show will be held at A Smith Gallery in Johnson City, Texas for the month of March, with a reception on March 30, 2013 from 4-7PM. The show will then travel around Texas for one year.

One of my new tintypes is included in the online gallery for the Kiernan Gallery's upcoming show Methods (Alternative) juried by Christopher James. It is a great group of images showcasing alternative process photography.
