ambrotypes

This Sunday I continued my wet plate collodion experiments, this time using glass instead of tin. Ambrotypes are underexposed glass plate negatives backed with black velvet making them a one of a kind positive image.  The top image is correctly exposed with a shorter development time while the bottom image is slightly overexposed with a longer development time. A longer development time gives the image a creamier tone. Next I hope to experiment with making glass plate negatives, which require a longer exposure and a slightly different developer.
